TALKING POETRY

Writing down the vision

Kei Miller (Jamaica/UK) gives us an introduction into his poetic world. In his last collection The Cartographer Tries to Map a Way to Zion, Miller’s shows his ability to not only refer to multiple realities, different ways of observing he world, but to articulate them. His work is rich with both British and Caribbean vernaculars, and his poems are explorations of the roots of these and the meanings they both convey and hide, through etymology and cultural association, as well as wordplay.
